What Happened:

Illegal racing on the highway may have been a factor in a fatal two-car crash that also seriously injured a passenger on September 5, 2012. The crash occurred when the two cars touched on Garth Road near Midway Farm Road in Albemarle County, VA. One of the cars ran off the road, killing the driver and injuring the passenger. The other driver who fled the scene was found and charged with hit-and-run and racing on the highway.
