Red Light Runner in Brunswick County, NC Caused Fatal Traffic Accident | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A 72-year-old woman was killed in Brunswick County, North Carolina (NC), by a red light runner. The victim was traveling west in her 1990 Miata on NC 211 crossing U.S. 17, when the 51-year-old driver of a pickup truck hit her vehicle on the driver’s side door. According to WECT6, the victim died at the hospital later in the day.

The at-fault truck driver is facing charges that include failure to stop at a red light, driving with a suspended license and misdemeanor causing death by vehicle. He is currently being held in Brunswick County Jail.
