Reglan Lawsuits on the Rise | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Roughly 500 lawsuits have been filed alleging that the prescription drug Reglan, and generic versions, cause severe neurological injuries, according to LawersUSAOnline. Reglan is composed of metoclopramide and is designed to treat gastrointestinal disorders like acid reflux and GI Ulcer symptoms.

But taking this drug may lead to an increased risk of Tardive dyskinesia, a neurological disorder that can cause your body to move involuntarily.

My colleague Jim Lewis wrote an article about Reglan side effects and how this drug can seriously affect your quality of life. In addition to Tardiv dyskinesia, common Reglan side effects include dizziness, headaches, and nervousness.

Reglan, and its generic counterparts, are so risky that the Food and Drug Administration issued a “black-box” warning and advised against using this type of drug for an extended period of time.

This dangerous medication has been on the market since 2001. If you or a loved one has taken Reglan, or a generic metocloparamide-containing drug, and suffer from  this movement disorder, please consult with a lawyer from our firm right away. You want to help you get compensation and hold  Schwarz Pharma (the manufacturer of Reglan)  responsible for  this dangerous drug and exposing people to such serious, negative side effects.
