Truck Blindsides Richmond, VA Boys & Girls Club Pasenger Van, Injuring Seven Children | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A field trip for Richmond, Virginia (VA), Boys & Girl Club kids turned into a nightmare when the passenger van the had taken on a field trip was blindsided by a truck at the intersection of S. 9th and East Byrd Streets in the city on July 13, 2011. The box truck was owned by Buckingham Greenery, according to CBS6.

Minutes after the wreck, Richmond irefighters and paramedics rushed to assist the children and transport them to emergency rooms at nearby hospitals, including VCU Medical Center and St. Mary’s Hospital.  The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old resident of Mosely, VA, has been charged with running a red light.

Luckily, no one died. Still, parents of the young victims may have grounds for filing personal injury lawsuits with the assistance of Virginia truck accident lawyers to recover medical expenses and other damages from the responsible parties.
