South Carolina (SC) Jury Awards $12M in Rehab Hospital Negligence Case | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

In her latest post to our firm’s VA & NC Medical Surgery Malpractice Attorneys Blog, my colleague Emily Mapp Brannon shares her thoughts on a jury verdict against a South Carolina rehabilitation hospital. She notes that evidence in the case indicated a paralyzed patient developed bedsores — one “the size of a saucer plate” — that became almost fatally infected when nurses, physical therapists and doctors at the facility failed to ensure the man was turned from his back.
