South Carolina Woman Killed by Drunk Driver, Others Injured in Pickup-SUV Accident
According to the Sun News, Don Leget Marsh, who had been driving his pickup truck on the opposite side of the divided highway, crossed the median and slammed into the other vehicle. The driver of the SUV died in the crash, and two passengers also suffered serious injuries. The driver in a third car involved in the head-on collision also needed medical treatment for injuries.
The deceased is Deanna Lynn Plyler of Heath Springs, SC. My condolences go out to her family and friends.

Police determined that Marsh was drunk at the time of the accident and have charged him with causing bodily harm and taking a life while driving under the influence. Whatever criminal penalties he receives if convicted on those felony charges, Marsh will never be able to make up for the pain and suffering his irresponsible act of DUI caused. And nothing could ever restore the life of the woman he killed.
As a personal injury attorney who regularly represents car accident victims, I see too many people and families struggling to return to normal following crashes caused by drunk drivers. In each case, my Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina law firm colleagues and I do everything we can to hold the at-fault driver accountable for the injuries and wrongful deaths they have inflicted. Doing anything less would not ensure that justice was done.
