Speeding Teen Driver in Salisbury, NC Causes Injuries, Loss of Life | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A Rowan County hospital worker suffered serious injuries and a passenger was killed in an accident that occurred on Jake Alexander Boulevard in Salisbury, North Carolina (NC).

Joyce McDowell Curl broke both her legs and has bruising all over her body. She had to undergo surgery due to the severity of her injuries.

The accident occurred when the 18-year-old driver of a Buick decided to go about 70 mph in a 45 mph zone and drove onto the shoulder. Troopers believe the driver either overcorrected or lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line, and crashed into Curl’s Nissan, according to wsoctv.com.

David Molina was a passenger in the Buick, and he died as a result of the accident. He was only 23 years old. Reports indicate that all three individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck.

My deepest condolences go out to the Molina family. Losing someone you love is one of the most difficult experiences anyone has to go through in life, but the pain is made even worse when the loss is sudden and due to the carelessness of another person. The family should consult with a wrongful death attorney in North Carolina to discuss their legal options.
