Teen Killed and Five People Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-485 in South Carolina | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

While driving home after a night of bowling and dinner, a mom and her five children had their lives turned upside down in a deadly accident. The SUV they were in was sideswiped on I-485 in Pineville, South Carolina (SC). The car was identified as white and might possibly be a Lexus.

According to WBTV, the woman was driving on the inner lane of the southbound highway. The impact caused the mother to lose control of the SUV, resulting in a rollover accident. A 14-year-old boy from Chester, SC, was thrown from the vehicle and killed instantly. Two other kids were also ejected from the vehicle but survived the incident.

This was an awful wreck, not only because the at-fault driver callously drove away after initiating an accident, but also because the victims were so young. Any innocent person who dies in an accident is terrible, but the tragedy is compounded when the victim is young and had their whole lives ahead of them.

The victim’s parents should consider contacting a personal injury lawyer in North Carolina to discuss their legal options. The loss of a child’s life is devastating, and the person who caused the accident needs to be held responsible in both criminal and civil court.
