Three Injured in Downtown Norfolk, VA HRT Bus Crash | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

After an SUV slammed into an HRT bus at the intersection of St. Pauls Boulevard and Main Street in downtown Norfolk, Virginia (VA), three people went to the hospital for treatment of crash-related injuries. Speaking with WAVY-TV 10 after the accident at around 2 pm on February 8, 2012, a Hampton Roads Transit spokesman said the bus operator was uninjured and it was unknown whether the people who did sustain injuries were bus riders, pedestrians or the driver and passengers in the SUV.

Police have determined, however, that the individual behind the wheel of the SUV was the at-fault driver. Whether that individual will face criminal charges is unclear, but staying out of court would not excuse the at-fault driver from being held liable for injuries in civil lawsuits.

If the people hurt in the bus-SUV accident find themselves facing high medical bills, long periods out of work and signiicant lost wages while recovering and participating in physical therapy, or any kind of disability, they should contact a Norfolk personal injury attorney to discuss their legal options for receiving compensation.
