Mother Dies in Truck Hit-and-Run in Tennessee (TN) | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A young mother from Tullahoma, Tennessee (TN) lost her life when a pickup truck hit her and then fled the scene in the early morning hours of March 26, 2011, according to police. They are still searching for the driver of the vehicle.

Jessica Lynn Crownover, 28, was struck at 12:03 am while crossing South Jackson Street at Southgate Mobile Home Park. The driver of the truck in question continued traveling north on South Jackson Street toward Tullahoma. According to a statement made by Police Chief Paul Blackwell on Tuesday, March 28, officers believe the vehicle involved was a light colored Ford Ranger-possibly an extended cab. The truck will have front grill damage, headlight damage and possibly a broken windshield.

Crownover was taken to Harton Regional Medical Center and airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville for medical treatment. Unfortunately, she passed away later Saturday afternoon. The victim had two young children at the time of her death, and was listed as an organ donor. She is credited with saving the lives of five individuals who were waiting for transplants.

The victim was a self-employed housekeeper and a member of the Winchester Good Shepherd Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made Karlee’s Angels by calling (931) 308-3465. Online condolences may be sent to the family at grantfuneralservices.net.
