Tractor Trailer and Car Crash in Bridge Tunnel

What Happened

The Monitor and Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel was shut down briefly on February 14, 2013 because of an accident.

The crash happened in the southbound lane, but emergency personnel shut down the northbound lanes as well in order to get to the accident quickly. A spokesperson from the Virginia State Police said the crash involved a tractor trailer and a car. The car involved in the crash was completely mangled and left unrecognizable; the driver was taken to a local hospital for personal injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

The Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

Accidents involving big rigs are almost always serious. The size difference between the two vehicles is unprecedented, and causes an all too familiar problem with the rigs blind spots. In this case the ability for a wrongful death claim is dependent on results of the police investigation, but it is beneficial for the family of the deceased to attain legal representation quickly to allow our attorneys to promptly survey and inspect the accident scene and the defendant’s vehicle. We are one the best truck accident lawyers in Virginia (VA) and our lawyers have obtained millions of dollars in settlements for our clients. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of those involved in the crash.
