North Carolina Personal Injury Lawyer Perspective:

Everyone knows how dangerous it is to run a red light, but when a tractor-trailer does not stop, the results can be especially tragic. All of us should remember that we need to pay close attention as we near an intersection and make sure that we obey all traffic laws. Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased in this terrible accident.

The family of the victim would be well served to speak to a personal injury lawyer. Many wrongful death suits are brought successfully against trucking companies whose drivers acted negligently in the performance of their duties. The fact that this driver has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle could mean that the company could be successfully sued in a wrongful death civil case.
