Truck Wreck in Harrison County, WV Takes Life of Child | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

When a child’s life is taken by an accident, the pain and trauma can be unbearable. A fatal truck wreck in the Five Points area of Harrison County, West Virginia (WV), illustrated this sad reality.

A 3-year-old boy who was camping in a tent in a rural, wooded area with another child and adults lost his life when a truck ran him and a 6-year-old. The older boy was transported to United Hospital Center with injuries. State police are referring to this tragic wreck as an “incident” until it can secure more details about what caused the truck to run over the children.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the deceased victim’s family. If it turns out the truck driver was negligent in operating the vehicle, the parents of the child should consider speaking to a wrongful death attorney who is licensed in West Virginia.

Our firm understands just how devastating truck accidents can be. For example, we handled a case in which a car was hit by a truck on I-64 in Norfolk, VA. A young man in the car was burned alive, and we were able to secure a $3.5 million settlement for the his 5-year-old daughter.
