Two Burlington, North Carolina Men Injured after Motorcycle and ATV Collide

Two men were transported by helicopter to the hospital after a recent collision between their ATV and a motorcycle. The motorcycle crash occurred  on Stoney Creek Church Road outside Ossipee, North Carolina (NC). According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, Frederick Wallace had crossed the road to check his mailbox, on his 1999 Honda Foreman ATV and failed to look behind him before leaving his mailbox. The ATV driver, Wallace, pulled right in front of the motorcycle which caused the collision.

The 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle driver, Charles Clemmons, of Burlington, had been traveling east on Stoney Creek Church Road when Wallace pulled in front of him when the collision happened. First responders from the N.C. Highway Patrol, Alamance County Emergency Medical Services, the Altamahaw-Ossipee Fire Department and the Alamance County Sheriff's Office arrived shortly after the 6:14 p.m. 911 call.

Two helicopters were called in, one from UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and the other from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, in response to the atv-motorcycle accident. Although the victims appeared to be stable, their condition was serious enough to be flown to the trauma centers.
