Two Car Crashes Result in One Death On I-81.

What Happened:

The Virginia State Police report that a multi-car crash on Interstate 81 resulted in one death and two injuries late Thursday night on April 4th. The crash occurred at mile marker 234 when the driver of a pickup truck flipped his vehicle in the median of the highway. A Ford Expedition swerved to avoid the crash and was struck by a tractor-trailer in the opposite lane. The Expedition’s driver, Daniel Manso of New York City, was killed, while his passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, who fled the scene on foot, was later arrested for reckless driving.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

Car accidents that result in the death of the driver or passengers, particularly ones that occur due to reckless driving on another individual’s part, can be incredibly devastating. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the victim’s loved ones.

The victim's loved ones should consider speaking with a Virginia wrongful death law firm to discuss their legal options. Our Virginia wrongful death law firm has handled multiple wrongful death cases that were caused by negligent, reckless drivers. For example, in one case, we represented an injured client who was hit by a reckless driver in Norfolk, VA. We worked tirelessly and secured a sizable settlement for our client.

Potentially Helpful Info:

If you believe your car accident injuries, or the death of a family member, was the result of another driver's reckless behavior, check out Virginia’s various reckless driving statutes on the matter to see if the accident in question is indeed reckless (select “next” to cycle through the statutes). For instance, § 46.2-862 stipulates that a driver is guilty of reckless driving when he or she either exceeds the speed limit by twenty miles per hour or drives over eighty miles per hour regardless of the speed limit.

If you or a loved one is considering taking legal action, there are certain steps you should consider taking when trying to find the best Virginia personal injury law firm.
