Two injured in single-car wreck in Fairfield Harbour | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Two people were injured on Sunday in a one-car crash in Fairfield Harbour, NC.  Authorities say that the driver was traveling south on Broad Creek Road when the car ran off the road to the right, overcorrected and then ran off the road to the left and hit a tree.  Both the driver and the passenger had to be removed from the car using the Jaws of Life. The investigation is ongoing and charges are expected to be filed against the driver.

As an experienced personal injury lawyer it frustrates me to read about accidents like this.  It is not immediately known what caused this driver to run off the road in the first place.  Maybe the driver was speeding and lost control or perhaps was distracted by something such as a phone, eating or drinking, talking to the passenger or music.Maybe the driver was simply not paying attention.  In any case, this accident is one that could have very likely been prevented.

We hope for a speedy and complete recovery for the victims of this crash.  While the passenger in this car was, in no way, at fault for this accident, they may want to consult with an experienced North Carolina personal injury lawyer to learn how they can proceed with filing a personal injury claim as they may be entitled to receive compensation for any injuries they suffered as well as any financial losses they may have incurred as a result of this accident.  An experienced personal injury lawyer can help walk them through the steps of the claims process while they focus on recovering from their injuries.
