An estimated 25,000 house fires are caused by space heaters each year. A group sharing a house in Virginia Beach learned this first hand on Jan. 4, 2010, when their electric space heater ignited flammable materials. My colleague Rick Shapiro takes note of this incident–in which, fortunately, no one was hurt–in his latest post to the Virginia Beach Legal Examiner.
