Virginia Beach Car Crash Results in Death of Woman | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Anne Warnock succumbed to her injuries after she was hit head-on by another vehicle in Virginia Beach, Virginia (VA).

The tragic accident occurred on Little Neck Road when Warnock’s 1995 Honda Civic was hit by a 2005 Nissan Maxima. The at-fault driver reportedly suffered a medical emergency and drove into the opposite lane of traffic.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Warnock family. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Virginia Beach and she is survived by her two sons, six grandchildren and a great granddaughter, according to the Virginian Pilot.

Police continue to investigate this VA Beach car wreck. Unfortunately, medical emergency car wrecks are not uncommon. But the family of Mrs. Warnock should know that just because the at-fault driver claims to have suffered a medical emergency, they are not necessarily  excused from liability for the car crash.

If it turns out that the at-fault driver knew they had a particular medical condition which made it dangerous to drive and the driver knowingly or negligently took the risk, then they can still be held liable in a wrongful death claim.
