Virginia Beach, VA Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Earlier this month, a man, age 55, was almost done with his predinner bike ride when a vehicle, possibly a blue truck, suddenly struck him, and he flew through the air, and landed approximately 30 feet away, according to the Virginian-Pilot.

The man ended up at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital with serious injuries, including nine broken ribs, a broken clavicle, and a broken pelvis. The wreck remained under investigation, and was categorized as a felony hit-and-run. The bike crash happened right before 5:30 pm on Shore Drive near 83rd Street, in Virginia Beach, VA. The bicyclist didn’t see the vehicle coming. The ride started out to be an ordinary route the cyclist rode often, for the past 32 years, on his way to and from his Cape Story home. He wore a helmet and safety gear.
