Western Harnett High School Student Killed in Crash, Sister Injured | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A 14-year-old girl who was being transported to school by her older brother suffered a broken arm and a concussion when her brother lost control of the vehicle.

The accident occurred as the driver approached a curve on Spring Hill Church Road in Lillington, North Carolina (NC). Speed was considered the dominant factor in the crash which caused the SUV to roll over twice. Both of the passengers were wearing their seat belts at the time. Sadly, the girl’s older brother died at the scene of the accident.

ABC Local
reported that the girl was originally taken to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital, but was then transferred to Wake Med.

This was a tragic accident and my deepest sympathies go out to the parents. This wreck illustrates the importance of driving cautiously, especially when approaching a curve. Far too many lives are lost due to speeding and we all need to remember, especially when we have passengers in our vehicle, to exercise caution while operating a vehicle.
