Will Passenger Rail Return to Norfolk? | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Plans, money and commitments seem to be falling into place to reintroduce passenger rail service between Norfolk, other cities in south Hampton Roads and Richmond. Initial efforts would involve running Amtrak trains on freight railroad tracks owned and operated by CSX and Norfolk Southern. Within a decade, high-speed passenger trains could be arriving daily at a station in Downtown Norfolk that connects riders to the Tide commuter light-rail system. My colleague John C. parses this news in his latest post to the Norfolk Injuryboard.
