Woman dies in motorcycle wreck in Nelson County, VA | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What happened:

Nobody expects to go on vacation and have the unthinkable happen.  Tragedy struck for a Rhode Island couple while traveling through Nelson County, VA.  Alphonse Beaulieu and his wife, Rita, were on their motorcycle when it collided with another vehicle.  Authorities say that a Dodge Neon failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Virginia 151 and 840 causing the crash with the motorcycle.  Rita Beaulieu died as a result of this crash and Mr. Beaulieu suffered life-threatening injuries.  Charges are pending against the driver of the Neon.

The Virginia Injury Lawyers Perspective:

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of the victims. It is hard enough to hear that one victim was killed, but it is distressing to learn that her husband may not survive his injuries.  What is even more tragic is to learn that the probable cause of this accident was somebody disobeying a road sign.  As experienced wrongful death lawyers in Virginia, we hear  time and again about tragedies like this occurring and, too often, they are due to something so basic.  To obey road signs and to pay enough attention that they are not ignored, disregarded or overlooked completely – it is a basic tenet of driving a motor vehicle.

Potentially Helpful Info:

Our experienced wrongful death lawyers are, day after day, thrown into the midst of grieving families who are struggling to pick up the pieces and somehow move on with their lives. This is the most difficult part of our jobs.  While we can do nothing to bring back their loved ones, we do strive to do all that we can to help them receive some form of compensation for their loss. As an example, we had a case where we represented the sister of a deceased woman who was tragically killed in a moped accident.  We helped our client recover monetary compensation for their pain and suffering, final expenses and any other financial damages they suffered as a result of their loss.
