Wreck on I-95 Takes Life of Mother and Daughter | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Theresa Supica and her three teenage daughters were traveling on Interstate 95 (I-95) near Henrico County headed towards Virginia Beach, Virginia (VA) when their lives were changed forever. The driver of a Toyota Corolla suddenly changed lanes, lost control of their vehicle, and smashed into the Supica’s Ford Explorer.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Supica and her 12-year-old daughter did not survive the car accident. The other two teenagers in the Explorer suffered serious injuries and were treated at VCU Medical Center, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

No one knows for sure why the driver of the Corolla suddenly changed lanes. Were they speeding and had to change lanes in order to avoid rear ending another car? Were they distracted and changed lanes without looking at the vehicles around them? The investigation continues.

My deepest condolences go out to the Supica family, especially Mrs. Supica’s husband Scott. I hope the two surviving daughters make it through this ordeal okay and the family is able to pick up the pieces after this tragic loss.
