In his latest post to our law firm’s VA-NC Medical Surgery Malpractice Blog, my colleague John C. reports that the family of a woman who died due to complications from anesthesia she received while undergoing Lap-Band implantation surgery has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. Named as defendants in the California (CA) case are the surgeon, anesthesiologist and advertising company 1-800-GET-THIN, which steered the woman to the outpatient clinic where the fatal surgical error occurred.
