Young Couple Killed and Teen Passenger Injured When Car Plunges Off North Carolina Overpass | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A couple was killed when their car veered off an overpass on U.S. Highway 52 in Lexington, North Carolina (NC). A third person, a 16-year-old passenger in the car, remains in critical condition after being taken Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and undergoing emergency surgery.

The accident occurred when the driver, a 19-year-old woman, lost control her vehicle for unknown reasons. The man who died was 21 years old. Alcohol use is not suspected, and police expect the surviving teen will be able to provide key evidence once he recovers enough to speak with authorities.
