What Happened

Our client suffered a fractured kneecap and multiple serious cuts and bruises when a truck driver turned left in from of his minivan in Virginia Beach. The official crash report showed conclusively that that the truck driver failed to yield right of way before turning.

Repairing the fractured kneecap required major surgery and the implantation of a great deal of hardware. Our client then missed a significant amount of work from his job as an auto mechanic due to pain, rehabilitation and follow-up surgeries.

Key Legal Strategy

Our Virginia personal injury law firm immediately filed a lawsuit against the at-fault truck driver. Since the insurance company for the truck driver could not deny that he was fault for causing the crash, it agreed to settle the case quickly and avoid a trial.

Very soon after being released from medical care, our client received a total of $350,000 for his medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering.

As experienced Virginia personal injury lawyers, we see nearly every day that knee injuries are just one risk from negligent or reckless truck drivers. We also know that many trucking companies increase the chances for disabling or deadly collisions by allowing their drivers to violate hours of service rules, putting them on the road with dangerous or defective equipment, and failing to provide adequate training, do background checks, or perform alcohol and drug testing. In such situations, we work hard to hold the company and its executives accountable.
