Chesapeake, Virginia (VA), Cab Crash Leaves Woman Wheelchair-Bound
Posted on Nov 02, 2010In his latest post to our firm's Virginia Beach Injuryboard blog, my colleague John C. reports that a young Chesapeake, Virginia (VA), woman who depended on taxicabs for transportation to doctors' and therapy appointments because of her cerebral palsy and mental disabilities, suffered further debilitating physical injuries when her cab crashed in to a van on Military Highway. The woman and her mother recently accepted a nearly $1 million settlement for the injuries and to cover costs of lifelong care. John notes that the settlement was justified because transportation companies have a high duty to protect passengers.
