Firm Attorneys Speak at BLET Local Union Dinner | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Firm attorneys Richard N. Shapiro and Randy Appleton recently addressed FELA occupational disease dangers at railroads during a BLET local union dinner function (engineers and conductors union) in Rockingham/Hamlet, North Carolina (NC).

The discussion focused on both diesel fumes and asbestos as a known cause of increased lung cancers, and other cancers. Our attorneys fielded many questions from union members and their spouses after the formal remarks.  Investigator Herb Wooten also attended the event.

The BLET local is based out of Hamlet, NC which is a major CSX hub of railroad operations in the Southeast U.S.A., as Hamlet includes CSX railroad lines heading in seven different geographical directions.
