Three Car Accidents Lead to Tragic Thanksgiving Holiday in North Carolina | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Three car accidents occurred in North Carolina (NC) on Thanksgiving. Sadly, two of the accidents were fatal. An accident on Highway 157 resulted in the death of two women and an accident on Highway 96 resulted in the death of a mother and her two children, according to WRAL.com.

In total, 16 people were involved in these accidents. My deepest sympathies go out to the friends and family of those killed. It’s never easy losing a loved one, but it’s even worse when they’re taken from us on a holiday.

The days leading up to Thanksgiving are some of the highest volume traffic days during the year. However, Thanksgiving day is usually light on vehicle volume.  This makes the aforementioned string of accidents that much more vexing.

These incidences highlight the fact that on no matter what day you drive the risk of suffering serious injuries or death from a car accident is omnipresent.
