Time to Pay Attention to Distracted Driving - Firm Joins EndDD Campaign | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Distracted driving is a serious safety issue and puts thousands of drivers at risk of suffering potentially life-threatening injuries in major motor vehicle wrecks.  While texting and talking on the phone are major distractions distractions accounting for nearly 20 percent of deaths in distraction-related wrecks, phones are not the only form of distracted driving. Other distractions include putting on lipstick, reaching over to grab a drink, changing the music, reading a roadmap, eating on the go.  The distractions are endless, but the goal is to ensure they do not lead to deadly car accidents.

In an effort to spread the message about preventing distracted driving, our Virginia Beach injury law firm will make an EndDD presentation at Jamestown High School in Williamsburg, Virginia (VA) on January 3, 2013.

EndDD stands for “End Distracted Driving.” The core mission of EndDD is to preserve the lives of drivers, both young and old, and to promote safety on a large scale through advocacy, education, and action.

Our firm agreed to make the presentation because we understand just how dangerous distracted driving can be. Some of our clients are victims who suffered serious injuries in accidents caused by distracted drivers. We have witnessed, firsthand, the devastation that can occur from a distracted driving accident.

Along with making the presentation, our firm published an in-depth legal guide on distracted drive. Feel free to download a PDF copy here.
