Retired Railroad Workers Can File FELA Claims

Railroad disease attorneys Randy Appleton and Rick Shapiro discuss whether a retired railroad employee can still file a claim under the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). The answer is yes when the claim is based upon a lung cancer or mesothelioma diagnosis. The reason is that a mesothelioma diagnosis may not occur for years, or even decades, after a worker was actually exposed to asbestos and other toxic substances while working for the railroad.
