“I can remember getting off the boat and going up to the house, except I obviously didn’t make it. He tripped on a step and lost his balance. The step was loose and he wobbled and lost his balance and fell back just a couple of feet onto a sidewalk.
Our son called 911, and the paramedics came out and put him on a stretcher. Obviously, it was something that was; he was not going to be able to stand up on his own, and so they put him on a stretcher, and we went to the Roanoke Hospital.
Our son suggested that we might contact an attorney. We said, “Okay, then you do that research.” And so he did. He did some Google searches and looked at a couple of different firms. He called Emily and talked with her and was pleased with what she had to offer and what she could do for us. We subsequently hired her.
They were very kind and listening. They always had our best interests at heart, but they also wanted to know what we felt and how we felt about it. They were most concerned that they took care of us and did what we needed them to do. I was very impressed with the attentiveness received from the firm.
She sent cards, flowers, and a fruit basket and was quite nice, the attention she gave us. We weren’t just another client —I didn’t feel like we were just another client. We were somebody that she cared about. By all means, if someone in Virginia—we had friends and family in Virginia—needed an attorney, we would tell them about our experience with this firm and offer their names and phone numbers to tell them to go and talk to them.
I’m sure they had other clients, but they made us feel that we were the only ones they had. I just think that if someone were looking for an attorney, that they could go to Emily or to anyone in her firm and they would be well represented by their knowledge and by their constant concern for the individual, not just the case.”
