Critically Ill Hampton, VA Man Dead After SUV Crashed Into His Ambulance

A critically ill Hampton, Virginia (VA), man died during the last week of September 2011 after the ambulance that was taking him to Sentara CarePlex Hospital was hit by a 2002 Chevy Suburban. According to the Virginian-Pilot, the collision occurred at the intersection of West Mercury Boulevard and North Armistead Avenue and seven other people were injured.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation. Police requested anyone who witnessed the accident to call (757) 727-6111.
