Motor Bike Rider Suffers Head Injury in Hit and Run Accident in South Charleston | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

An accident involving a car and motorcycle at MaCorkle Avenue and Montrose Drive in South Charleston, West Virginia (WV) left the motor bike rider in critical condition with a serious head injury. To make matters even worse, the at-fault driver of the car fled the scene of the accident leaving the injured motorcyclist to fend for himself.

Fortunately, police quickly tracked down the reckless driver and he will be charged with driving under the influence, failure to render aid, and fleeing the scene of an accident, according to wsaz.com.

There is no reasonable excuse for hitting someone and then bolting the scene. Not only is it illegal, but it’s simply inhumane. Ask yourself, what would you want a driver to do if they hit you?

The motor bike rider was taken to CAMC General Hospital and remains in critical condition. Given the ramifications of a serious head injury, the motorcyclist may never be the same.
