Pedestrian Killed in Accident on Lynnhaven Parkway in Virginia Beach

A pedestrian was enjoying a morning walk with his dog when his life came to a sudden end. Investigators have determined that the vehicle responsible for the deadly crash was traveling westbound on Lynnhaven Parkway when it went off the road and hit the pedestrian, a 40-year-old native of Virginia Beach, VA, according to wtkr.com. The vehicle continued off the roadway and ended up coming to a stop in a ditch, according to WAVY.com.

The victim died at the scene of the accident, and our deepest condolences go out to the man's family.

This appears to have been a preventable accident, and it is likely the family is struggling with a combination of emotions -- pain associated with the loss of a loved one and outrage at the circumstances of the accident.
