What Happened:

An airplane carrying two people crashed near the Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, North Carolina (NC). One person suffered injuries and the other person is missing.

The twin-engine airplane was reportedly approaching the airport when it crashed into the Croatan Sound. The weather conditions around the airport were foggy when the accident occurred, according to HamptonRoads.com.

The injured individual is a female and she was transported to Outer Banks Hospital. The Roanoke Island Volunteer Fire Department and the Coast Guard are still searching the Croatan Sound in an attempt to find the missing person, the pilot of the plane.
