Results: Our Firm Secures $3.5 Million Settlement After Fatal Truck Crash | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Shapiro, Washburn & Sharpis pleased to report that our law firm was able to secure a $3.5 million settlement in a wrongful death case regarding a fatal truck accident and a Portsmouth, Virginia, man.

The truck accident took place on I-264 in Norfolk, Virginia, when a truck driver slammed into the back of a 25-year-old man’s car. The man, who was trapped inside his vehicle, died when the car caught fire. While the truck company’s defense argued that the man was driving too slowly on an Interstate, our personal injury law firm proved that the trucker did not tell the whole story to police after the truck accident, and that his diabetes was not being treated in the weeks and days leading up to the crash.

The $3.5 million settlement will go to the man’s one surviving beneficiary, his five-year-old daughter.
