Comments (0)

What Happened:

A biker was struck by a car at a crosswalk on Prices Fork Road near Turner Street at Virginia Tech University in Montgomery County, Virginia (VA). The police stated that the biker was flown by helicopter to a Roanoke, VA hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was charged with driving without a driver’s license and for failure to yield, according to Collegiate Times.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

The driver who reportedly caused this accident has been charged with driving without a license and failure to yield. More charges could be brought in the future. The injured student and her family should consider contacting a Virginia personal injury lawyer to discuss the student's legal options. According to Virginia Statute 46.2-800, a person who is riding a bicycle in a crosswalk has all of the same rights and duties as a pedestrian.
