Wythe County Accident Leads to Three Deaths | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

While traveling north on Route 21 in Wythe County, Virginia (VA), a Ford F-150 crossed over into the opposite lane. Before hitting a 2000 Dodge Caravan head-on, the truck first sideswiped a Chevy Trailblazer. The impact of the Dodge and the pickup truck sent both vehicles spinning.

Three people in the Caravan were killed in the accident, with three others suffering injuries that required hospitalization. According to WSLS, the driver of the F-150 has been charged with reckless driving in the accident.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

The driver who reportedly caused this awful accident has been charged with reckless driving and may face further charges down the road. The family of the deceased victims should consider speaking with a Virginia personal injury lawyer to discuss their legal options. Just because the driver is facing criminal charges does not preclude the families from seeking restitution through a civil claim.
