Failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign, stop light or other traffic indicator is incredibly dangerous; in Virginia, it’s classified as a “Four Point Violation,” and the charge stays on one’s driving record for three years. Motorists expect each other to adhere to posted traffic directions, and when one doesn’t, accidents like this happen. It is incredibly fortunate that this accident was not fatal, but it still resulted in injuries that required hospitalization; our sympathies are with the victims of this crash.

If you’ve been injured by another driver’s reckless behavior, be it speeding or failing to stop at a stop sign or driving while intoxicated, you should consider speaking to a personal injury attorney. As injury lawyers, we are very familiar with the statutes, regulations and traffic laws that cover car accidents, and an injury attorney will be able to help you recover the compensation to which you are entitled in order to help pay for lost wages, medical bills and other costs that have come about due to an accident.
