On March 17, 2012, a chain-reaction accident occurred on I-485 near the Moores Chapel Road exit outside of Charlotte North Carolina (NC) sent 10 people hospitals with serious injuries. A tractor-trailer driver admitted to causing the wreck because he took his eyes of the road to check his ringing cell phone.

The wreck illustrates the dangers of distracted driving, especially for operators of large commercial trucks. No phone call is important enough to risk causing injury or death to yourself or those around you.

All of the injured victims are expected to recover fully. Still, the accident victims should contact a North Carolina truck accident attorney to discuss the incident. Because a professional trucker is at fault, the company the driver was working for could also potentially be held liable for injuries and damage.
