Improper Truck Lane Change Causes Wreck in Morehead City NC | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A street in Morehead City, North Carolina was closed when a tractor-trailer collided with a Dodge Neon. The car and truck were driving on Arendell Street, when the truck apparently tried to make a lane change and left turn without warning, into the path of the Neon.

The driver of the car stated that the truck did not use a turn signal. The care ended up lodged under the middle of the truck’s trailers, but no serious injuries were reported.

The truck pushed the car onto some railroad tracks and did serious damage to the car.

North Carolina Injury Lawyer Perspective:

It is good that no serious injuries resulted from this truck accident, but we all should be careful that we use our turn signals and that we always are aware of the other drivers around us. The driver of the Neon should speak to a North Carolina personal injury lawyer to see if there is any case for a civil lawsuit. The truck driver probably will be found at fault, and he could be liable in a civil claim.
