A man was trapped under his truck on Charleston, West Virginia’s (W. VA’s) West side on Thursday, January 27th, 2011 after his vehicle had an accident.

Emergency crews managed to free the victim after receiving a call just before 9 a.m. about an overturned truck at the intersection of Park and Central avenues, according to a Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatcher.

Charleston Assistant Fire Chief Owen Hawk II said the Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck hit a telephone pole and flipped onto its side, trapping the driver under the vehicle. The driver was taken to CAMC General Hospital, but his name and condition were unknown at press time.

We hope that the driver did not suffer any life-threatening injuries from this terrible truck accident, and that he recovers quickly. If you have never been in a serious crash where you are trapped under at truck, it is hard to imagine just how frightening it truly is.

If ever you are injured in a crash, and able to call for help, do so immediately. Stay with your car or truck until help arrives-don’t leave the vehicle unattended unless you need to seek emergency medical care.
