Sleeping Truck Driver Causes Accident in Rutherford County, North Carolina | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A FedEx truck driver reportedly caused an accident when he fell asleep at the wheel on March 8, 2012. The truck crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. on U.S. 74 in Ellenboro, North Carolina (NC).

A highway patrol trooper who responded to the accident told the Shelby Star that the semi driver has been cited for reckless driving.

It is fortunate that no one was fatally injured in this accident. Because of the sheer size and weight of commercial trucks, accidents involving them often have very tragic endings.
