Tabor City Truck Crash Leads to Death of Suffolk, VA Man | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A GMC pickup truck crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a Ford F-150 pickup truck on U.S. 701 in Tabor City, North Carolina (NC). The driver of the F-150, Brederick Scott, was killed in the truck wreck.

Scott was only 49 years old and a native of Suffolk, Virginia (VA). Our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family. Losing someone close to you is always difficult, but the pain is even worse when you lose someone so suddenly in what appears to have been a preventable accident.

The scene of the truck crash was disturbing. Debris and luggage from the F-150 was strewn about the highway and the at-fault driver’s pickup truck burst into flames on the side of the road.

There was another victim in the truck accident as well. Sgt. Michael Adams, who was assigned to Fort Bragg, narrowly avoided hitting Scott’s truck when he laid down his 1996 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle on the asphalt, according to fayobserver.com.

Adams was taken to Loris, South Carolina (SC) Community Hospital for treatment.

Police have not filed charges yet against the at-fault driver and what exactly caused the driver to veer into the next lane and cause the truck crash remains a mystery.

One reason folks hire us as attorneys to help with a wrongful death case is in part to learn the true facts and find out what really happened to their loved one in a fatal Virginia traffic wreck.
