Two Injured in Motorcycle Crash in Lynchburg | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Two people suffered serious injuries on March 11, after their motorcycle collided with a car in Lynchburg, Virginia. The motorcycle operator is listed in stable condition following surgery, while the passenger – his wife – is in critical condition.

The police noted that the driver of the car was turning onto Leesville Road when a motorcycle hit her in the passing lane.

The motorcycle driver and passenger were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where they continue to receive treatment.

The driver of the car was not hurt. No charges have been filed, as of the date of this posting. Rain prevented a reconstruction team from working on the accident scene earlier in the week. That work should proceed in the coming days.

Our hearts go out to the injured in this case and we hope that everyone makes a speedy recovery. The serious nature of this accident illustrates that it is very important for drivers to be cautious and vigilant on the roads, especially when they encounter motorcycles. Motorcycle operators, and drivers of cars, trucks, and SUVs should drive defensively to ensure that serious wrecks do not occur due to inattention or careless driving.
