Two Motorcyclists Hospitalized after Burlington Crash | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Two motorcyclists were hospitalized in Burlington, North Carolina after a wreck in the 1100 block of Anthony Road at 4:15 p.m. Saturday. Police have determined that both motorcycles were traveling north on Anthony Road when they each left the right side of the curved roadway.  

Curtis Glenn Savage of Rouggemont, and Thomas Visitor Hargis Jr. of Roxboro were transported by helicopter to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Conditions of the accident victims were not yet available. Hargis was transported by helicopter to Duke Medical Center in Durham and listed in critical condition on Sunday.

  • This is the 11th consecutive year that there has been an increase in motorcycle crash deaths.
  • The number of individuals injured in motorcycle crashes has decreased for the first time since 1998, declining 6.8%.
