Woman Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident in Boone, North Carolina | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

On March 8, 2012, two accidents occurred near the Appalachian State University Convocation Center on Rivers Street in Boone, North Carolina (NC). One woman was left with injuries from the first crash scene and was taken to Watauga Medical Center.

Police officers stated the same person caused both car accidents and have charged that driver with felony hit-and-run, driving while impaired and unsafe movement. He probably did not help his cause when he spit into the blood-alcohol measuring equipment.

Once again, someone made the bad choice of driving under the influence and an innocent victim suffered the consequences. Hit-and-run accidents can be doubly tragic because a victim who requires medical assistance may not receive it in time to prevent permanent disabiity or death if the only other witness to the accident, the person who caused it, flees the scene.
