King, NC Woman Dies Following Crash Near Madison | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A serious accident resulted in the death of an 85-year-old woman from King, North Carolina (NC). She was the passenger in a Nissan truck being driven by her 53-year-old son-in-law. The accident occurred on N.C. Highway 704 when, according to GoDanRiver.com, a woman driving a Ford F-350 neglected to see the Nissan and attempted to turn left across the lane of oncoming traffic and into a driveway.

Officials had to use Jaws of Life to get the two victims out of the Nissan truck, and the injured woman was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital by ambulance while her son-in-law suffered head injuries and was taken by air to Baptist Hospital, where he is still recovering from his injuries. The woman died the following day in the hospital from the injuries she sustained in the accident.

Charges for misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to yield are pending against the driver of the F-350.
