Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp is excited to announce that Attorney Richard N. Shapiro was recently recognized by Virginia Lawyer’s Weekly as one of Virginia’s GO TO Lawyers for Medical Malpractice.
‘Go To Lawyers’ for medical malpractice announced
Rick and our firm have won verdicts and settlements that total more than $100 million. While that would certainly be enough for anyone to hang their hat on, it’s but a piece of Shapiro’s professional pie: He is also a best-selling author of a thriller on Amazon and an inventor with 18 U.S. patents.
Regularly arguing client appeals, Shapiro has appeared before four different state supreme courts. He is certified as a trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and was selected in 2023 for its coveted President’s Award. Although many nominations were submitted nationwide, Rick was just one of eight attorneys chosen by the prestigious National Board, certifying civil trial attorneys across the U.S.
Shapiro has litigated injury cases throughout the eastern United States, involving everything from trucking matters to medical negligence claims. He was twice elected chair of the Railroad Law section of the American Association for Justice and named president of the Railroad Accident Division of the National Trial Lawyers Association. Congratulations Rick!
